Three Training Principles

Habits

We take building habits very seriously at RAIN, both on and off the field. Reinforcing good habits and correcting bad habits is vital to an athlete’s training mentality, which allows us to achieve maximum success. In order to become the best player and person we can, we need to make sure we train with proper technique, quality, and attitude. Whether it’s how we strike a ball, how we communicate, or how we carry ourselves, we want to put the proper habits in place. Like any good thing, building good habits will be a process and can take time. Every player is different and the process is unique for each player.

Heart

RAIN is driven by the love of the game. The reward of seeing hard work pay off has a direct impact on their success on the field and in life. We want to inspire and keep that fire burning for players to want to improve by going the extra mile. Our sessions are a place for you to feel safe to be yourself, while at the same time learning to love the feelings of hard work and achievement.

Focus

To train with RAIN means that you are ready to get down to business and lock in your focus. No matter the skill level or age, when you step on that field with us, the expectation is that you are mentally and physically ready to learn and work. For however long we are training, everything will be executed with quality and precision down to smallest details. We will always train in a way that encourages you to enjoy the process, while maintaining a high level of focus.

Values

Rhoads Athletic Initiative Northwest (RAIN) offers private soccer training, primarily through one-on-one sessions or in small groups. We also run team sessions, as well as online Zoom training, which is especially focused on biomechanics and skills. We work with players as young as U8 and up to our higher level competitors in the MLS, USL, and top tier colleges around the nation.

We take developing the player both on and off the field very seriously. It is important to learn about confidence and communication on the field and how it can relate directly to our everyday lives. The environment we build encourages players to become the best person they can be on top of being a strong competitor on the field. Players that train with a good mentality and are motivated to work hard will take those skills forward with them in life.

We love the process and the grind that it requires to achieve the things we want in life. We value the willingness to put that work in despite the physical and mental challenges. Everyone has a different story and we understand that not every player operates the same in terms of what drives them, but in every player we work with, we want to empower them to take control and create their own luck on the field and in life.

We are always trying to improve at RAIN to provide the best service and quality possible, and want to share that journey with players who have similar goals to improve.

Philosophy

Players learn to become the best versions of themselves when they feel comfortable to work as hard as they possibly can and understand how much they are capable of. We believe in creating a training environment that promotes comfort and trust between the players and the coach, thus building a relationship that empowers them to be open to improvement, confident in themselves, and successful. The high standard we hold our players to is something that we hope they carry on with them and can lead by example and encourage others to do the same wherever they go.

Mission

RAIN provides a safe and meticulously designed training regimen to soccer players of all ages, genders, and skill levels. Our mission is to activate each individual to their fullest level of performance so that aspirations for competition and love of the game can be achieved.
